The Academy for Spiritual and
Consciousness Studies is an international organization comprised of clergy, academics
of religion, philosophy and psychology, as well as scientists and
researchers. The purpose of the organization is to encourage dialogue
in the fields of consciousness studies, quantum mechanics, transpersonal
psychology, the paranormal, and spirituality. It holds an annual
conference where academic papers are presented, and publishes its
proceedings and journals.
The stated mission of the Academy is “to discern, develop and
disseminate knowledge of how paranormal phenomena may relate to and
enhance the development of the human spirit.”
A member of the Academy’s Board of Director’s for several
years, Dr. Serio recently completed two terms as president of the board.
As president, he wrote an article for the Academy’s quarterly
publication, The Searchlight. A selection of these articles appear
below.
The Thirty-seventh Annual Conference, “Spirituality, Science
and the Paranormal,” was be held at Kutztown University, Kutztown,
Pennsylvania, June 1-3, 2012.The Featured Speaker was Dale E. Graff
on “”Synchronicity and Psi Phenomena: A Synergistic Connection.”
The name of this organization was changed in 2012 to the Academy
for Spiritual and Consciousness Studies, Inc.
